Chrissy Cheer

We're starting Christmas a month early here. Just like how we visit the pawnshop a month before Diwali in order to satisfy the "ang pow" cravings of the little brats who visit our homes.

Some quips in American Aussie context, still a good laugh lies ahead.

12 Cricket Ball Tamperers
11 Syllable Names
10 Minute Yoga
9 Telemarketers
8 Bollywood Films
7 ELEVEN Workers
6 IT Graduates
5 Indian Games
4 Hare Krishnas
3 Butter Chickens
2 Nosy In-Laws

and

A TOTALLY INSUFFICIENT DOWRY

Was that American or Australian-made? Apart from the Indian telemarketers & 7-11 Indian staff phenomena here in Melbourne (and probably everywhere else), I could've sworn that last ‘touchdown’ bit was very Mark Holden from Australian Idol.

I agree with Shantini. The "G'day mate" greeting by the telemarketeer, and the Brisbane time zone cloack also seem to indicate Australian origins.

Indian games are ubiquitous enough by now to be adopted into Australian pop culture.

Oh, and Americans are not all that into cricket.

For the touchdown, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB59JMhhw3U

That's the latest Aussie Idol - Damien Leith

From the boymongoose website: "Born in the South of India but raised DOWN UNDER, Ashwin took up drums at age 14 .."

Great observations with the 'g'day mate' greeting, clock & cricket (it's cricket season now!).

Oh, and we do have those eccentric 'Hare Krishnas' here. They're Caucasians and make complete spectacles of themselves in the city.

Very deranged but TOTALLY entertaining.

One of these days, I'll try to get it recorded on my mobile phone (after I recover from the initial shock). It is so darn hard to peel my eyes away from them. It's like I wanna look away... but I just..can't. Like a really bad train wreck.
