Greetings one and all. First off, i will apologise for my long hiatus. A certain Internet Service Provider is at fault for that.
Secondly, i will apologise for the long absence that is to come. I am starting training tmr, and for my own safety's sake, i will not mention where. I will reveal though, that i will be away for 2 weeks.
Thus, as a pre-enlistment offering, i offer this piece which i relate out of memory from a bus ride two weeks prior.
Sitting on the bus, number i cant remember, on the way to Ang Mo Kio from Thomson Plaza. Around the general vicinity of Pierce Secondary School, 3 BPSS(Bishan Park Sec) students board. Two pubescent KLKs, and an XL sized Femme Fatale Follower of theirs, complete with the "Ottai-Jadai" hairstyle and file in hand.
The two KLKids sit behind me, that being the seat right at the end. The XL-FFF sits some distance ahead of me. Perhaps, they needed support. So one of the pre-teen paadagar calls out the her. Her name, though i cant remember specifically, paints a picture of Coconut oil, Spicy kitchens and a family that prob does "Sami-Paakraning" every friday night.
So after minimum coaxing, she joins the two Podiyans at the back.
And then it begins. KLKid 1 is the taalam specialist. KLKid 2 is the low-droning vocalist. Femme Fatale Follower is the one who sits beside holding a file, probably hoping to "Sami-Erranguran" in the bus.
KLKid 1 starts rapping a beat wit his knucles on the window, and KLKid 2 begins wit a "Muneesvara" song, that he prob ripped off a Malaysian Urumi Melam CD. And this lasts for 20 minutes. Or so. I may be exaggerating.
If Vasantham ever did a Sami Paatu Star, he would certainly find his niche. As would countless other KLKs these days as i've come to realise. Alongside the latest "FishMarriage" songs, and the classic "something-Kadai Orathile" songs, these Sami Paatus are making an emphatic emergence.
Anyway, i just felt this is a fitting precursor to Panguni. I urge you to make your way down, and make your own observations on this matter.
Now i end this lil story, i admit quite abruptly. For i have to pack. For my intake is tmr. That being Panguni day. So pray for me. And perhaps, you wont see the last of me.
ah neh's note: perhaps perhaps perhaps. strum on bebeh, and we'll see you when you get there, if you ever get there.
